Spice, Spice Baby: Festive Fall Cocktails

Fall is finally here! The leaves are changing, temperatures are dropping, and 2020 is (finally) coming to an end. What better way to celebrate than with festive fall cocktails?

Whether you’re hosting at home, craving some fall flavors, or brunching on the weekend, we have the perfect drink for you. Join us in making our favorite boozy recipes. Let’s get mixing!

Spice things up

Move over pumpkin spice lattes, there’s a new drink in town. Freuitcake’s Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mules are far from basic. Grab a copper mug, get cozy, and enjoy!

You will need:

  • 2-4 oz vanilla vodka (or traditional vodka for a less-sweet cocktail)
  • 1 heaping tablespoon pumpkin puree plus more for garnish
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • squeeze of lime
  • spicy ginger bee

Directions:

  1. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake together vodka, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and lime juice.
  2. Pour into a copper mule mug filled with ice and top with ginger beer.
  3. Garnish with a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice and serve.

Apple cider with a twist

If there’s one thing you need this season, it’s NeighborFood’s Fall Sangria. This is definitely not your average sangria. Pro-tip: the flavor gets better as it sits, so refrigerate it at least an hour before serving or overnight.

You will need:

  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 apples, chopped
  • 2 pears, chopped
  • 2 plums, chopped
  • 1 bottle of pinot grigio
  • 3 cups apple cider
  • 1 cup club soda
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (optional)

Directions:

  1. Place the chopped fruits at the bottom of a large pitcher. Pour in the wine, apple cider, club soda, and bourbon.
  2. Give everything a really good stir. Taste. If desired, add 1/4 cup maple syrup.
  3. Sangria should be refrigerated for at least 30 minutes before serving but is better if refrigerated for several hours or overnight.

Did someone say brunch?

We’ll be there! Especially if there’s Caramel Apple Mimosas. This delicious recipe from Mom’s Mimosa will satisfy your sweet tooth while putting you in the Fall spirit.
