Hosting At Home: Glamping

Our summer dreams are coming true and it’s the unofficial start of living our best life outdoors! At East of Ellie, we are celebrating by creating new (outdoor) fun memories.

We wouldn’t be #ThisIsTeamEllie without all the bells and whistles – so we’re going glamping. Care to join us?

We want you to picture yourself surrounded by nature. You are in a lush forest and the roar of the campfire can be heard. Delicious cocktails are sipped out of camping style mugs. You’ve got it now, we’re talking, GLAMPING. Here’s how to upgrade your weekend festivities and join us glamping in style.

It’s time to set up camp. You can opt for an outdoor bonfire or an indoor fireplace setting. Now that we have our fire, let’s surround it with chairs, pillows, blankets, and anything that oozes campfire vibes. Pro-tip: we love the textures of soft cotton and anything fuzzy to make that fireplace extra cozy. Now our glamping scene is set.

S’mores are non-negotiable here. Sit around the fire and roast marshmallows for a traditional campfire worthy treat. Don’t let not having an outdoor fire pit or indoor fireplace stop you. You can also create this delicious s’more bites for your guests with a blow torch. You have our word that these are as delicious as they look.

Keep the libations and conversations flowing with a signature cocktail to tie together your entire glamping experience. We call our favorite “The Happy Glamper” using this recipe from Screw It.

You will need:

4 ½ ounces of Bourbon

2 ounces lemon juice

1ounce maple syrup

1 large sprig of rosemary plus more for garnish

  1. In the bottom of a cocktail shaker muddle the sprig of rosemary slightly until it’s fragrant.
  2. Then add ice, bourbon, lemon juice, and maple syrup to the shaker.
  3. Shake to combine and strain into rocks glasses filled with ice.
  4. Garnish with a small piece of rosemary.

Our favorite way to serve this cocktail is in a custom campfire mug – cheers!

Music is a must. It’s as easy as a portable speaker or in-home sound system. A perk of hosting at home is easy electricity access. We suggest turning on our Fireside Chat playlist on the East of Ellie Spotify. It’s full of smooth, Americana inspired sounds that set the mood perfectly for all the warm and fuzzies while glamping.

It’s time to get crafty – camp style. It’s hard to pick a favorite here. We suggest decorating your favorite bandana with patches and accessories that match your glamping style. Tie-dye can be super fun and really shows off that going to camp look. This is your opportunity to let your creativity go wild and take full advantage of mindless and fun outdoor activities.
