Hosting at Home: Thanksgiving

Your Thanksgiving gathering may be smaller this year – but you can still make it special.

Although this Thanksgiving will be a little different, you have the opportunity to start new traditions, share your gratitude, and make lasting memories while hosting Thanksgiving at home. Never hosted Thanksgiving before? From the perfect fall tablescape to personal charcuterie boards – we have all the Thanksgiving inspo covered for you to have a safe and special day.

Spruce up the table

Decorating the table is the best way to put you in the Thanksgiving spirit. Get creative with pumpkins, incorporate fall colors, and play with patterns. Best of all, you can even make use of items you already have lying around the house!

Set the menu

Avoid sharing dishes by creating a set menu and serving each guest their own plate. I think we can speak on everyone’s behalf to say no one actually enjoys cooking for a party of 20. Therefore, let’s embrace this opportunity to scale back the menu and keep it simple. Plus, having to pass the 100 lb dish of mashed potatoes gets exhausting – so personal plates are truly a win-win.

Charcuterie for one, please! Honestly, everything is better mini-sized and these personal charcuterie boards are no exception. Keep the personal plate trend going from start to finish with individual cheese boards and pumpkin pie bites. They’re cute and easy to make – what more could you ask for?

Share your gratitude

At a time like this, it’s more important than ever to focus on the positives and recognize all the things you’re thankful for. You can make this fun with a gratitude activity! Have each person write down what they’re grateful for and share it with the table. Bless’er House even made these perfect printables that you can download and print for your guests.

This year, let’s embrace the change and make it a day to remember! Show us your hosting skills by posting a picture of your Thanksgiving and tagging us on Instagram.
