East of Ellie is hosting the launch of changing lives DAY 1, the countdown begins in celebration of the official launch of the Millennium Development Goals Athletes and Artists Committee (MDGAAC) on behalf of the Board of Directors of the MDG Awards Committee and The Jack Brewer Foundation (JBF Worldwide).
This high-profile event will be held in New York City on Saturday, April 13, 2013.
JBF Worldwide strives to ‘Empower from Within’ and is dedicated to providing resources and opportunities to the world’s most underserved populations using sport as our catalyst in support of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The mission of the MDG Awards Committee is to focus a global spotlight on the efforts being made to achieve the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Kicking off with this exclusive event, the MDGAAC will host a series of regional events that provide a high profile platform to integrate local community efforts with the overall objectives that contribute toward the achievement of the 8 MDGs: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger; Achieve universal primary education; Promote gender equality and empower women; Reduce child mortality; Improve maternal health; Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases; Ensure environmental sustainability and Develop a global partnership for development.
These goals were set in 2000 and the 2015 deadline is quickly approaching in less than 1,000 days. The countdown begins now. This series of events will renew this focus by bringing attention to these causes with a new sense of urgency while providing the opportunity to leverage key networks and contacts, celebrity figures and non-profit partners. With this new collaborative partnership, a substantial effort can be made towards these 8 goals.
Please join us in the official launch of changing lives DAY 1, the countdown begins in our continued effort to achieve the MDGs before the 2015 deadline.
